Kaiteriteri is centrally located in the Nelson Province. Approximately 2 hours drive to the Marlborough Sounds on the eastern side and approximately 2 hours drive to Farewell Spit on the western side.

The Nelson area is well known as a summer paradise, but with day time temperatures around 15 degrees Celsius during the winter and the highest sunshine hours in NZ, it is becoming known as a year round destination.

The stunning 18 hole golf course at Motueka (15km) is a treat any time of the year. Typical of an outstanding "small town" golf course in New Zealand, the seaside layout will challenge the best of golfers and seduce those mere mortals among us. Gently contoured with over 6000 trees lining the fairways, green fees start at $NZ15 and all players are welcome. Clubs and carts are available for hire from the pro-shop.

Another "must try" secret of Nelson is the Rainbow Ski Field overlooking the Nelson Lakes National Park. Just 2 hours drive from Kaiteriteri Apartments, this ski field has full facilities; tows, lifts and hire equipment.

Nearby Motueka and approaches is well represented by vineyards and craft galleries. The area rivers are known world-wide for brown trout fishing.

The Nelson area is the perfect place to "drop out" or get into outdoor sports and events.

Tours to the wineries of the Nelson area, the Ngarua caves, Farewell Spit, Pupu Springs and other attractions such as craft shops can be arranged.
